OECM announces $30,000 funding to support the Girls Who Game Program in Ontario
In 2019, OECM was proud to contribute, via a $30,000 funding commitment, to a program that aims to change this viewpoint amongst female high school students. Girls Who Game (GWG) is a joint Dell Technologies and Microsoft initiative that empowers female students in grades 4-6 using technology and learner-driven experiences that broaden their knowledge, skills, interest and confidence in STEM-related fields.
OECM’s commitment benefited participating Ontario District School Boards, covering the cost of new Dell products and a contest prize of an Interactive Display for the highest scoring winner in Ontario of the Girls Who Game: School of the Future Challenge. Congratulations to all the 2019 participants and members of GWG clubs from Conseil scolaire catholique MonAvenir, Hamilton Wentworth DSB, Ottawa Carleton DSB, Toronto DSB and York Region DSB. The winner of the interactive display will be announced on OECM’s social media pages at the end of February.
