Celebrating Family Day

This fall, OECM held our annual Family Day event, bringing families and staff together to celebrate the importance of relationships and community engagement. Over 170 family members gathered at the OECM office and participated in collaborative and interactive activities such as Bingo Bowling.  The event doubled as an opportunity to raise funds for the Daily Bread Food Bank. OECM raised $2,720 and accumulated two large boxes of food donations! Before the event, staff and families were encouraged to contribute to the Daily Bread Food Bank by donating non-perishable food items and participating in a raffle draw.

The response from everyone involved was overwhelming, with numerous individuals and families generously showing their support for those in need. These donations will undoubtedly make a significant difference to those who rely on the services of the Daily Bread Food Bank. By fostering a sense of unity and shared purpose, OECM’s commitment to making a difference in the lives of others serves as a reminder of the power of collective action – something OECM incorporates inside and outside the workplace. As of this year, OECM has raised an outstanding $26,950 for charitable causes!

In October 2023, OECM received the Daily Bread Food Bank’s Workplace Champion Award to recognize our contribution in supporting their crucial work to alleviate food insecurity in the city.
