Employee Wellness and HR Initiatives
Supporting employee mental health and wellness ensures a productive and efficient workforce! OECM prioritizes the mental health and wellness of our staff and continues to offer a stream of resources and support for employees through various HR initiatives. Earlier this year, staff were invited to attend a series of mental health workshops presented by the Canadian Mental Health Association and led by Mental Health Educator Rebecca Higgins. The workshops were set up as three-part sessions to help OECM employees identify factors that trigger stress, strategies for coping and stress reduction.
OECM staff was also re-introduced to their Employee and Family Assistance Program (EFAP) delivered through Homewood Health, and were given the opportunity to attend a corresponding seminar to learn about the available services. The EFAP at OECM provides life coaching in the areas of health, life balance and career, counselling services, and online learning, and is accessible 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
