OECM, the not-for-profit collaborative sourcing partner for Ontario’s education sector, broader public sector, and other not-for-profit organizations, today announced the appointment of two new members, Mike D’Amico and Yasir Naqvi, to their Board of Directors.

My colleagues on the Board and I look forward to working with them both and leveraging their unique expertise.”
A seasoned human resources (HR) executive and industry thought leader, Mike D’Amico brings extensive experience in the biotechnology, software, and telecom industries to OECM’s Board of Directors. Mike has deployed HR solutions in all business environments, working with publicly-traded companies and private companies as well as those entering the IPO process. He has provided HR assistance to companies in aggressive growth mode along with those undergoing significant business transformations, and has in-depth experience working with boards of directors and HR compensation committees. Prior to joining Stratford Group, Mike founded Strategic HR Consulting Canada, a successful HR consulting firm providing HR strategies to clients, with a focus on talent management, total rewards, corporate governance and mergers and acquisitions. Mike holds a B.A. in Law and Sociology, a Human Resources Management certificate and has achieved the SHRP certification – the highest HR certification level in Canada
Yasir Naqvi joins the Board with several years of experience as a strategic leader, public policy expert, and communicator. He currently serves as the Chief Executive Officer of the Institute for Canadian Citizenship (ICC), Canada’s leading voice on citizenship and inclusion. Prior to joining the ICC, Yasir served as a Member of Provincial Parliament (MPP) for almost 11 years, representing a downtown, urban, and diverse community in Ottawa, Ontario. In that time, he served as the Attorney General of Ontario, Government House Leader, the Minister of Labour, and the Minister of Community Safety and Correctional Services. He was also a member of the Treasury Board and Management Board of Cabinet. Before being elected, Yasir was the Associate Director and International Trade Counsel at the Centre for Trade Policy and Law (CTPL), a non-profit think-tank affiliated with Carleton University and the University of Ottawa. He also practiced international trade, competition, regulatory and administrative law with major law firms in Ottawa. In addition, he has served as a part-time professor at the University of Ottawa Faculty of Law, and as a guest speaker at Carleton University and Algonquin College. In 2018, Yasir was named to Canadian Lawyer’s “Top 25 Most Influential” list for advancing technological modernization in Ontario’s justice system. He recently also received the Lincoln Alexander Award from the Law Society of Ontario.
As well, OECM has bid farewell to Arnie Strub, who completed his maximum term on the OECM Board of Directors in May 2021. “I would like to extend a very special thank you to Arnie Strub, with whom I have worked very closely over the years. I am grateful for Arnie’s guidance, leadership, and support throughout this time,” says John Sabo, OECM’s President and CEO.
