OECM supplier partners navigate supply chain issues during Coronavirus pandemic

As the Coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak continues to spread here in Canada and abroad and as we all do our part towards minimizing its impact, OECM’s Supplier Partners are taking various measures to navigate the effects of the Coronavirus crisis on global supply chains.

As you are aware, the Coronavirus health crisis has led to an increase in the consumption of products that we rely upon to be readily available. OECM’s supplier partners are working closely with their supply bases (both existing and new) and are trying their best to continue to fulfill customer orders and minimize the impact.

However, as the Coronavirus threat continues to grow, further tightening of product availability and the prospect of pricing premiums placed at various levels throughout the supply chain (e.g. raw material suppliers, alternate manufacturing sources, freight and warehousing services, etc.), can be expected.

OECM’s supplier partners will continue to support customers throughout this period, working to gain insight into their requirements and allocate product as best as possible, while accounting for additional lead time and working to balance supply and demand issues to have the least impact on pricing.

During this time, some suppliers are experiencing a significant increase in customer phone calls, email inquiries and pick-up of orders, which may be putting a strain on their customer response times. OECM’s supplier partners are working diligently at processing customer requirements as best and as fast as they can, however customers should expect some delays when communicating with customer service departments – either by phone or email.

All OECM customers are encouraged to work as closely as possible with supplier partners to identify product requirements to help with planning and to ensure minimal interruption to their operations.
