The videos are available in English and French, as well as in Described Video and Closed Captioning

  • First-Time Rider

The videos are funded by the Province of Ontario, and are available exclusively through OECM and our supplier partner, Intertrain Incorporated. They have been created with input from the Ontario Association of School Business Officials’ (OASBO) Transportation Committee. The videos have been refreshed for this school year to include updated standardized rider safety in Ontario.

Videos refreshed to address COVID-19
To address the COVID-19 (Coronavirus) pandemic, the school bus rider safety videos were also updated to include suggestions to address COVID-19 as it relates to school bus transportation and safety.

Online version of standardized on-site program
Additionally, given the impact that COVID-19 has had on the 2020-21 school year, OECM and Intertrain have responded by developing an online version of the standardized on-site school bus rider safety program. The school bus rider safety training programs is available in English and French and has two age-targeted programs:

  • Primary students (Kindergarten to Grade 3);
  • Junior/intermediate students (grades 4 to 8).

The Ministry of Education has released an SB memo regarding this program. All questions regarding funding should be directed to the Ontario Ministry of Education.
