School Bus Rider Safety Training Program
The School Bus Rider Safety Training is a regularly updated program that is exclusively available through OECM and our supplier partner, Intertrain Inc., in English and French languages. This program was developed in response to the Ontario Auditor General’s 2015 Annual Report recommendations for student school bus safety.
This program is designed to provide Primary (JK-Grade 3) and Junior/Intermediate (Grade 4 – Grade 8) students in Ontario with training on how to be safe in and around a school bus. Such training is designed to actively promote and support appropriate student behaviour and will contribute to a positive school climate.
School Bus Rider Safety Training sessions are age appropriate and use engaging themes, including multi-media and interactive components. Their content is aligned with relevant legislation, regulation and includes key bus rider safety messages. The training sessions are approximately 30 minutes in length and will be presented by skilled trainers.
