Golf, Polo and Family Fun Day: OECM Raises Funds for Various Charities at Events

September 15, 2022

What do golf, polo and OECM’s Family Fun Day have in common? During each of these events, OECM has raised funds to support various worthy causes and charities. Over the past few months, OECM and its stakeholders joined together to raise funds for the following charities:

St. Michael’s Hospital Foundation and the Southlake Regional Health Centre Foundation

On Saturday, June 18, OECM staff and their families attended the Polo for Heart tournament at the Toronto Polo Club. OECM raised over $2,700, with all proceeds benefitting life-saving cardiac care programs at St. Michael’s Hospital Foundation and the Southlake Regional Health Centre Foundation.

Cystic Fibrosis Canada

On Thursday, June 23, 2022, OECM hosted its first-ever charity golf tournament for customers and supplier partners and raised $11,850 for Cystic Fibrosis Canada.

SickKids’ Transplant and Regenerative Medicine Centre (TRMC)

On Thursday, September 1, 2022, OECM hosted its annual Staff Family Fun Day. The day is set aside for staff and their families to enjoy time together to celebrate their hard work and accomplishments over the past year. During the fun, family-friendly event, OECM also hosted a raffle, raising a total of $2,200 for TRMC.
This cause is especially important to the OECM family, as the son of one of our staff members received a liver transplant and continues to benefit from the excellent care provided by SickKids.

Earlier in the year, OECM also raised $6,000 for Indspire, an Indigenous national charity, during its 2nd Annual Symposium in Blue Mountain.

With all of these efforts combined, OECM has raised an impressive $22,750 for charities and causes that are close to our hearts. Way to go OECM!
