OECM Becomes the National Public Sector Champion of Supply Chain Management Association Ontario (SCMAO)

March 7, 2024

OECM is now the exclusive partner for SCMAO public sector initiatives focused on driving value for supply chain professionals across Canada.

OECM, in partnership with Supply Chain Management Association Ontario (SCMAO), is pleased to announce that we have been named National Public Sector Champion, supporting a joint commitment to strengthening the supply chain network as SCMAO expands their reach from coast to coast.

As the trusted not-for-profit collaborative sourcing partner for Ontario’s education sector, broader public sector, and other not-for-profit organizations, this strategic partnership is in alignment with our values of collaboration, responsiveness, integrity, innovation and respect and SCMAO’s mandate toward elevating the supply chain profession, by driving value to supply chain professionals.

With over 1,300 customers and 429 active supplier partners, OECM is growing to become the leading sourcing partner for the education and broader public sectors. We are uniquely positioned to be the exclusive partner of SCMAO public sector initiatives which include SCMAO Public Sector Live Chats, Leadership Series and industry-specific conferences such as the Public Sector Procurement and Supply Chain Conference, Healthcare Supply Chain and Procurement Conference and Canadian Construction Procurement Conference.

“OECM’s foundation is rooted in leadership and collaboration, fundamental values that underpin our organization’s strategic priorities and business outlook for 2024 and beyond,” says John Sabo, President and CEO of OECM. “Through this multi-year partnership that names OECM as SCMAO’s exclusive National Public Sector Champion, we’re proud to endorse thought leadership opportunities and knowledge-sharing initiatives that will enhance public sector procurement and supply chain practices on a national scale.”

OECM is committed to building strategic partnerships that facilitate collaboration amongst and between all our partners and assist in creating pathways that support increased efficiencies and maximized opportunities for shared success across the public sector. SCMAO continues to make strategic investments to further strengthen the support of public sector professionals, especially now, as the public sector is playing such a critical role in building the Canadian infrastructure.

“A large segment of our membership is employed in key supply chain roles within the public sector. That, and given the tremendous impact of the public sector on our broader society, we understood very early on that we needed to amplify our service and product offerings in support of all supply chain professionals working in the public sector,” says Al-Azhar Khalfan, President and CEO of SCMAO. “As we continue building on this trajectory, we are delighted to have a partner in OECM that supports our purpose and mission of elevating the supply chain profession across Canada.”

SCMAO operates under three pillars—currency of content, speed to market, and accessibility to members and the larger supply chain community. This collaboration with OECM aligns with SCMAO’s brand promise while bringing together the broader supply chain community to strengthen the voice of procurement professionals across the public sector.

Supply Chain Management Association Ontario (SCMAO) is one of Canada’s largest communities for supply chain professionals, a broader community of 12,000+ supply chain professionals.
