OECM Statement on COVID-19: Updated

OECM continues to closely monitor the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic and we are taking all necessary steps to manage and respond to the evolving circumstances, while following the guidance of Ontario’s Ministry of Health and the Public Health Agency of Canada (PHAC), the Government of Canada’s lead for COVID-19.

To further protect the health and safety of Ontarians and contain the spread of Coronavirus (COVID-19) across the province, the Ontario Government ordered the mandatory closure of all non-essential workplaces, effective as of Tuesday, March 24th at 11:59 p.m.

On April 14th, this directive was extended for an additional 28 days. As such, the OECM office will remain closed until May 12th, with the possibility of extension as the situation evolves.

As previously communicated, we would like to assure our customers, supplier partners and stakeholders that OECM continues to be fully operational during this time.

With our employee’s health and well-being as our top priority, we have implemented the following measures to help reduce the spread of COVID-19, while maintaining business continuity and supporting our customers and supplier partners while we navigate this challenging environment.

  • All OECM employees are now working remotely from home.
  • All in-person events, workshops and meetings have been suspended until further notice.
  • All meetings will be held as teleconference calls or webinars or will be postponed until suitable alternative arrangements can be made.
  • We are encouraging employees to continue to diligently follow the prevention recommendations from health authorities, such as proper hand washing and social distancing measures.

Our staff continue to be available, via email and telephone, to support our customers in Ontario’s education sector, broader public sector, municipalities and other not-for-profit organizations. OECM is also committed to supporting our supplier partners who are working to ensure prompt responses to our customer’s product and service needs.

Customers are reminded to contact our dedicated Customer Support team at OECM Customer Support or 1-844-OECM-900 (1-844-632-6900) Monday to Friday from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm for any inquiries.

We are committed to working with all our stakeholders to help “flatten the curve” and we will continue to update you on our measures as events evolve in order to support you in every way we can.
