OECM hosted its inaugural Facilities Summit 2023 for Ontario’s education and municipal sectors at the Sheraton Centre Toronto Hotel from October 25 to 27. The Facilities Summit emerged as a pivotal platform for exchanging ideas and facilitating dialogue relevant to facilities-related procurement. The event showcased a diverse selection of speaker sessions, expert panels, and workshops that addressed critical challenges faced by the industry and emerging trends in facilities.
In addition to various networking opportunities, attendees participated in several professional development sessions and presentations. The program included a keynote address on “Your Circular Economy Roadmap to Net Zero” from HP Canada’s Head of Sustainable Impact, Frances Edmonds, presentations from Keel Cottrelle LLP, Bruce Mayhew Consulting, an OECM-led workshop on “Collaborating for Success” with leaders from our Strategic Sourcing and Supplier Relationship Management teams, an Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) panel discussion, and a session on “Building Automation Systems and AI” with the President of Blackstone Energy Corp, Tim Schneider.
Feedback obtained via a post-event survey showed that the event was very well-received overall. The majority of respondents highly rated their satisfaction with the event organization and management, event format and program, and hospitality and catering. Attendees highlighted HP Canada’s Head of Sustainable Impact, Frances Edmonds’ keynote address, the OECM-led “Collaborating for Success” workshop, and the session led by Bruce Mayhew as particular favourites, with many noting that they enjoyed sessions with interactive elements and breakout discussions.
We look forward to initiating future events that endorse cross-sector and industry collaboration, generate value for customers, and drive operational efficiencies.
