We are delighted and honoured to announce that OECM is Daily Bread Food Bank’s 2023 Workplace Champion! The award was presented to OECM at Daily Bread’s 2023 Best in Class Awards, held on October 2, 2023, at the National Yacht Club in Toronto. This award recognizes an organization that has partnered with Daily Bread Food Bank to support its critical mission of raising awareness about food insecurity and alleviating hunger and poverty in this city. We share this recognition with all our employees, customers, supplier partners, and others who participated in our fundraising and employee volunteering initiatives – this award is dedicated to all of you!
Each year, we partner with a charitable organization and leverage every occasion and prospect to raise awareness and generously support a critical cause. OECM’s charitable pursuits combine employee volunteering initiatives with in-house fundraising activities that reinforce our organization’s values within our office doors and beyond. While we were pleased to be named as a nominee and finalist for the Workplace Champion award, alongside two other very worthy organizations, winning is a true testament to our organization’s deep-seated values, collective generosity, and goodwill toward those in need.
To date, OECM has raised nearly $23,000 and contributed five large bins of non-perishable food items to Daily Bread. OECM staff have also volunteered on-site, assisting in packaging an estimated 2,800 pounds of food. We will continue to support socially responsible organizations like Daily Bread Food Bank that are dedicated to providing local citizens with a helping hand, and we believe strongly in their mission to ensure that no child, no family, and no one in Canada has to spend their days or holidays hungry.
