OECM’s Board of Directors plays a key role in governance, policy formulation, and decision-making activities that help OECM achieve its strategic objectives by providing oversight and approving policies to ensure operational excellence.

OECM’s Board currently consists of twelve (12) Directors.

Dr. F. Haider Alvi was appointed to the OECM Board of Directors on November 29, 2016.

Haider is a former corporate financier turned academic and company director. Having grown up in North America, he has worked in Asia, the Middle East, Eastern Europe and Latin America. He is presently Assistant Professor of Innovation Finance at Athabasca University, and previously held academic appointments at EGADE Business School (Tec de Monterrey, Mexico City campus) and Schulich School of Business.

Haider also has a special interest in emerging markets, emanating from his 11-year career as a banker focused on the financial services sector. Based at various times in Hong Kong, Jakarta, and Amsterdam, he has advised government shareholders and banks in 17 countries in Asia, the Middle East and Eastern Europe on mergers, restructurings, and privatizations. More recently, he has taken leadership roles on Boards of not-for-profits and social impact organizations.

He has been awarded degrees from the University of Cambridge (Ph.D.), Indiana University-Bloomington (JD), University of Toronto (MBA), University of Chicago (AB) and is a graduate of the Directors Education Program of the Institute of Corporate Directors (ICD.D).

Andrew Szende was appointed to the OECM Board of Directors on November 29, 2016.

Andrew spent 17 years as the founding president and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Electronic Child Health Network (eCHN), Canada's first province-wide integrated electronic health record system.

He is a member of the Governing Council of the University of Toronto, as well as a member of the Board of Directors of the Canadian Centre for Aging and Brain Health Innovation. In addition, Andrew is Chair of the Board of Directors of Health Claims for Auto Insurance Processing. He previously served on various other not-for-profit (NFP) boards.

Andrew has executive experience in the provincial and federal governments. During his time in the Ontario public sector, Andrew served as Associate Secretary of the Cabinet, Assistant Deputy Minister of Health, Senior Agent in Hong Kong, and Executive Coordinator of Federal-Provincial Relations. In the federal government, he served as Director of Operations (Communications) in the Privy Council Office.

Andrew is a graduate of the University of Toronto, and the National University of Singapore and has completed the ICD-Rotman NFP Governance Essentials Program.

Anne-Marie Renaud was appointed to the OECM Board of Directors in November, 2016.

Throughout her 32 years career in Operations with PepsiCo, a Fortune 500 company, Anne-Marie had the opportunity to develop expertise in Procurement Services, Manufacturing, Distribution and Fleet Management. In her last 10 years as V-P of Supply Chain in US and in Canada she has also gained unique insights in strategic business planning and how to drive successful change management processes in a complex and fast pace business environment.

Anne-Marie believes giving back is important and she has been involved for several years with United Way of Peel and The Toronto walk to conquer cancer. She now serves on the board of the Canadian Arthritis Society and mentors young entrepreneurs and women in leadership. She serves on other private and institutional boards and is an active Executive Coach.

Anne-Marie holds a Bachelor in Food Science from Laval University, a Graduate Certificate in Executive Coaching from Royal Roads University and she is a graduate of the Directors Education Program of the Institute of Corporate Directors.

Eitan Dehtiar was appointed to the OECM Board of Directors on November 29, 2016.

Eitan brings 25 years of experience in banking, finance, logistics, and business development, across Canada and internationally. Currently, he works as a Strategic Development Consultant and Interim Chief Financial Officer (CFO).

A seasoned senior financial executive, Eitan previously served as Interim Director of Finance and Administration at CPA Ontario, through the unification of Ontario’s accounting bodies. He also served as CFO at SkyLink Aviation, an international defense contractor, through its recapitalization, and as CFO and Vice President, Finance and Strategic Planning at Braden-Burry Expediting Ltd., northern Canada’s largest logistics company. Eitan serves on various community, industry and government boards, as well as tribunals.

Eitan is a graduate of Queen’s University with a Master’s degree in Business Administration. He also holds CPA ,CMA designations and is a graduate of the Directors Education Program of the Institute of Corporate Directors (ICD.D).

Kevin Kobus was appointed to the OECM Board of Directors on November 29, 2016.

Kevin is currently an Associate with Promeus Executive Search. Previously, Kevin served as a superintendent of employee relations, superintendent of schools, senior policy advisor to the Education Improvement Commission, Director of Education of the Simcoe Muskoka Catholic District School Board, Assistant Deputy Minister of Business and Finance with the Ontario Ministry of Education, Director of Education of the Toronto Catholic District School Board, and Executive Director of the Ontario Catholic School Trustees’ Association.

Kevin is widely acknowledged for his expertise in areas of collective bargaining, educational finance and governance. He has also served on numerous boards of not-for-profit (NFP) corporations, including the Catholic School Boards’ Services Association (CSBSA), the Ontario School Boards Finance Corporation (OSBFC), and the Ontario Education Services Corporation (OESC).

Kevin holds a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.), Maths, Physics, Economics from the University of Windsor and a M.Ed., Educational Administration from the University of Toronto - OISE.

John T. Dinner was appointed to the OECM Board of Directors on November 29, 2016.

John is the President of John T. Dinner Board Governance Services – helping clients across Canada achieve their organizational objectives through excellence in board governance. Prior to establishing his consulting firm in 2003, John provided corporate governance, public affairs and corporate communications leadership at a leading Canadian financial institution.

John was a founding faculty member of The Directors College, a McMaster University and Conference Board of Canada professional initiative. He is also a contributor to the Joint Committee on Corporate Governance (sponsored by the Toronto Stock Exchange and Institute of Chartered Accountants), a widely published author and media spokesperson on board topics.

John holds a BA in Journalism from Ryerson University and is currently pursuing a Masters of Arts degree designation.

Kathy Pozihun was appointed to the OECM Board of Directors on November 29, 2016.

Kathy is currently Vice President, Administration and Finance at Lakehead University.

Kathy’s professional career began at Thunder Bay's Hogarth-Westmount Hospital, after which time she served as Director of Finance, Systems, and Property at Community Living Thunder Bay. She then joined Lakehead District School Board as Manager of Finance, became the Board’s Senior Business Official, and then Superintendent of Business and Treasurer of the Board.

In 2012, Kathy was appointed Vice-President (Administration & Finance) at her alma mater, Lakehead University. As the University’s Chief Financial Officer, Kathy aspires to ensure that Lakehead remains financially sustainable and poised for growth through the leadership of the administrative units, including Human Resources, Finance Services, Information Technology (IT), Physical Plant, Human Rights and Equity, Risk Management, Security Services, and Ancillary Operations.

Kathy is a graduate of the University of Toronto Rotman School of Management Ontario Supervisory Officer Executive Program, and the Senior University Administrators Course, through the Centre of Higher Education Research and Development, University of Manitoba. She also holds an Honours Bachelor of Commerce Degree (Accounting Major), and is a Chartered Professional Accountant, Certified General Accountant.

Lesley Cornelius was appointed to the OECM Board of Directors in May, 2019.

With over 25 years of industry experience, Lesley was most recently Director, Business Development and Communications at Mohawk Medbuy Corporation, where before her retirement in June 2017, was responsible for strategic planning, new business acquisition, project management, marketing and communications. Prior to joining Medbuy, Lesley held a decade-long position as Director, Marketing and Communications at the London Economic Development Corporation. She has also overseen business development in the Life Sciences industry and held a variety of positions at Canada Trust and Clinique Cosmetics Canada. Lesley currently works part time as an Instructor in the Clinical Trials Management Program at Continuing Studies at Western University.

An active community volunteer, Lesley currently sits as a Director on the St. Joseph's Health Care London Hospital board, as well as the YMCA of Southwestern Ontario board. She has also been a member of the St. Joseph's Health Care Foundation Board and the Huron University College board where she held several leadership positions.

Lesley holds a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) Degree in Psychology from Western University as well as a number of professional certificates in Communications and Public Relations, Business Negotiation and Healthcare Supply Chain.

Mike D’Amico was appointed to the OECM Board of Directors in May, 2021.

A seasoned human resources executive, Mike has extensive experience deploying HR solutions in all business environments. He has worked with publicly-traded companies and private companies as well as those entering the IPO process. Mike has supported large multinationals to small family-founded organizations. He provides HR assistance to companies in aggressive growth mode along with those undergoing significant business transformations, and has in-depth experience working with boards of directors and HR compensation committees.

Prior to joining Stratford Group, Mike founded Strategic HR Consulting Canada, a successful HR consulting firm providing HR strategies to clients, with a focus on talent management, total rewards, corporate governance and mergers and acquisitions. He has held senior executive roles in the biotechnology, software and telecom industries.

Mike is an in-demand thought leader who has spoken at numerous international HR conferences. He holds a B.A. in law and sociology, an HR management certificate and achieved the SHRP certification – the highest HR certification level in Canada.

Rani K. Dhaliwal was originally appointed to the OECM Board from May, 2008 to July, 2010. She was reappointed on November 29, 2016, and serves as a member of the Customer Council Committee.

With experience in public, private and not-for-profit (NFP) sectors, Rani has wide-ranging knowledge of best practices that contributes to improving student success at Humber, the Ontario postsecondary education system, and building capacity of communities by volunteering on NFP boards.

Rani holds a Bachelor of Economics and a Bachelor of Business Administration (B.B.A.) from York University, CMA and FCMA Designations from the Chartered Management Accountants of Ontario, a Chartered Director designation from McMaster University, The Director's College, and the FCPA Designation from the Chartered Professional Accountants Canada.

Jodie Lobana was appointed to the OECM Board of Directors on May 29, 2019.

Jodie has more than 20 years of professional experience in internal & external audit, accounting and finance, enterprise risk management and governance. She has served as Managing Director of Lobana Consulting Group Inc. since 2005, and has provided services to more than 50 national and multi-national organizations across North America in varying capacities. Since 2011, Jodie has taught at a number of prominent universities, including the University of Waterloo and the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT). She is currently an Adjunct Faculty Member at York University, teaching Governance of Information Technology.

Jodie presently sits on the International Internal Audit Standards Board (IIASB) and is the Chair of the Advisory Board of the McMaster Artificial Intelligence Society. She has previously served on the Boards of the University of Waterloo's UWCISA Institute, the Institute of Internal Auditors Canada (IIAC), McMaster University’s IT Strategy Steering Committee and CPA Canada's IMTAC Technology Advisory Committee. Jodie has also served on Compliance Audit Committees for the City of Brampton and Dufferin-Peel Catholic School Board.

Jodie has been awarded a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) and a Master of Accounting from the University of Waterloo and is currently pursuing her Ph.D. in Business Administration at the DeGroote School of Business at McMaster University. She holds accounting designations in both Canada (CPA, CA) and the United States (CPA). In addition, Jodie is a Certified Internal Auditor, Certified Information Systems Auditor and Project Management Professional. In 2013, Jodie received CPA Ontario’s prestigious “Award of Distinction,” recognizing her early impact on the industry through leadership and professional achievement.

Yasir Naqvi was appointed to the OECM Board of Directors in May, 2021.

Yasir Naqvi is a strategic leader, a public policy expert, and an effective communicator. He was the Chief Executive Officer of the Institute for Canadian Citizenship (ICC), Canada’s leading voice on citizenship and inclusion. Prior to joining the ICC, Mr. Naqvi served as a Member of Provincial Parliament (MPP) for almost 11 years, representing a downtown, urban and diverse community in Ottawa, Ontario. In that time, he served as the Attorney General of Ontario, Government House Leader, the Minister of Labour, and the Minister of Community Safety and Correctional Services. Mr. Naqvi was also a member of the Treasury Board and Management Board of Cabinet.

Before being elected, Mr. Naqvi was the Associate Director and International Trade Counsel at the Centre for Trade Policy and Law (CTPL), a non-profit think-tank affiliated with Carleton University and the University of Ottawa. He also practiced international trade, competition, regulatory and administrative law with major law firms in Ottawa. In addition, he has served as a part-time professor at the University of Ottawa Faculty of Law, and a guest speaker at Carleton University and Algonquin College.

Mr. Naqvi is recognized by his peers as a strong community leader and involved resident of Ottawa. He has been cited as a “Community Builder” by United Way Ottawa and listed as one of the “Top 25 People in the Capital” by Ottawa Life magazine. In 2018, he was named on Canadian Lawyer’s “Top 25 Most Influential” list for advancing technological modernization in Ontario’s justice system. Most recently, Mr. Naqvi received the Lincoln Alexander Award by the Law Society of Ontario.
