This past year, OECM organized a highly informative and engaging Customer Day at ATCO Structures & Logistics Ltd.’s (formerly NRB Modular, acquired in September 2024) facility in Grimsby, Ontario. The event was well attended and brought together representatives from School Boards, Colleges, and Universities, offering them a firsthand look at the innovative modular and portable building solutions provided by ATCO Structures & Logistics Ltd., a supplier partner on OECM’s Modular Buildings and Portable Classrooms. OECM was represented by Khusen Shukurov, VP of Operations, along with other key members of our Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) and Customer Relationship Management (CRM) teams.
Insightful Presentations and Facility Tour
The day began with an informative presentation from ATCO Structures, which provided an overview of its comprehensive turnkey solutions. The presentation highlighted the numerous benefits of modular and portable buildings over traditional construction methods, including faster build times, cost efficiency, and design flexibility that can be tailored to meet the specific needs of educational institutions.
Following the presentation, attendees were given an exclusive tour of ATCO Structures’ assembly site. The tour offered a close-up view of the production process for portable classrooms, booths, and other standalone structures. ATCO Structures’ advanced manufacturing techniques and precision in each production phase impressed all attendees.
Key Takeaways and Networking Opportunities
The event concluded with a Q&A and networking session, allowing participants to delve deeper into the capabilities of ATCO Structures and discuss potential collaborations. A significant highlight was the growing interest in modular buildings from higher education institutions. With the recent scope expansion in the current agreement, colleges and universities are increasingly considering modular solutions for facility expansions and student housing. The discussions also underscored the value of modular construction in meeting the evolving needs of educational institutions.
ATCO Structures’ expertise extends beyond educational buildings. Their technology-driven process enables the rapid design and fabrication of large-scale, multi-story, multifamily projects, student housing, senior housing, industrial and commercial structures, and hospitality venues. Each project reflects ATCO’s commitment to quality, customization, and efficiency.
Looking Forward to Future Collaborations
OECM extends its thanks to ATCO Structures for hosting this successful Customer Day and sharing its industry-leading insights. The event highlighted the critical role modular construction can play to support customers’ educational and institutional infrastructure needs.
