OECM is pleased to announce the appointment of two new Customer Council Committee advisory members representing Ontario’s education sector. Effective April 4th, 2023, Marny Scully, Vice-President of Policy and Strategy at the Council of Ontario Universities (COU), joins the committee as a university sector representative, and Brian McKay, Associate Director, Corporate Services for the Lambton Kent District School Board, joins as a school board representative.
Marny brings over 30 years of experience and insight into the university and government sectors. As a leading professional in her field, Marny provides strategic direction in developing plans and policies to advance sector-wide priorities for Ontario universities. In her previous roles, Marny served as the Deputy Chief of Government Relations at the University of Toronto and Executive Lead with the Ministry of College and Universities (MCU), where she led the Strategic Mandate Agreement (2020-2025) process and bilateral negotiations culminating in the finalization of 45 agreements with Ontario’s colleges and universities. Marny is a graduate of the Rotman Executive Leadership program and McMaster University.
Brian’s stellar portfolio, spanning over 20 years in the public sector, includes finance (accounting, budgeting, payroll, and purchasing), information technology, plant operations, capital, and maintenance. He holds a CPA designation, and before joining the school board, Brian was the Director of Finance for the City of Sarnia. Brian is the current President and Chair of the Board for the Educational Computing Network of Ontario (ECNO).
